African Classical Civilization: Kanem-Bornu (c. 900s – 1900 C.E.)

In this seminar, students will develop an understanding of African History prior to the periods of Arab and European enslavement. Focusing on the Kanem-Bornu, this will be done through looking at historiographical and archaeological sources.
